Brighton Ballet Theater has been a pillar of our community for over 35, offering exceptional dance training, performances, workshops, and outreach programs that celebrate diversity, foster inclusivity, and empower aspiring dancers of all backgrounds. Throughout our journey, we have witnessed dance's profound impact on young people's physical, emotional, and social development.
However, we are also keenly aware of the economic challenges many families in our district face. Despite the passion and talent of numerous young dancers, financial limitations often stand as barriers preventing them from accessing the quality dance education and training they deserve.
BBT, a small not-for-profit organization still recovering after three years of the Covid-19 pandemic, has awarded more than $60,000 in merit- and financial need-based scholarships in 2022-2023. It's part of what makes us a vibrant and different community representative. We believe that all children should have the right to dance. We allow these children to study and grow through scholarships, strictly following our mission of keeping children off the streets and bringing them into a world where imagination takes flight and all cultures flourish together.
